Choosing healthy options at your local grocery store is not always easy. So, let’s go shopping together so we can show you how we choose produce, dairy products, breads, peanut butter, healthy meats and poultry, and more!
The Environmental Working Group (EWG) bases its list, which is not peer-reviewed, on annual reports from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Pesticide Data Program. More than than 99% of produce samples tested for that report had pesticide residues acceptable to the EPA, but EWG believes the federal standards are insufficient.
Below are the EWG lists of the Dirty Dozen and the Clean 15. We choose to buy organic when possible for the Dirty Dozen and are ok with conventional produce for the Clean 15.
