Who doesn’t love a beautiful vegetable crudite with creamy ranch dressing? The problem is that most ranch dressings are made with artificial ingredients and inflammatory oils. Yuck! And, most of homemade recipes include some sort of dairy like sour cream or buttermilk. Although they are delicious, not everybody can tolerate dairy in their diets.
Our clients on the Eat Live Thrive Academy have been asking us how they can get that creamy salad dressing or dip that they want without all of the unhealthy stuff. So, we went back into our kitchen and played around a bit and came up with our healthy version of Creamy Ranch – Enjoy!
Creamy Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup avocado mayonnaise (we like Primal Kitchen or for a little sweeter mayo Chosen Foods)
- 1/3 canned coconut milk
- 1 teaspoon dried dill
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup fresh finely chopped scallion (optional)
Directions
Add all ingredients to a jar or container that has a lid. Stir together until blended. Put lid on jar and shake to thoroughly combine! Chill for 30 min before serving. Store in refrigerator.
Reducing Tip
Thin out this dressing by adding some unsweetened coconut milk from the carton. Not only does it make the dressing go further, it reduces the calories per tablespoon.
