ARE YOU AN EMOTIONAL EATER? I was for many years. It even led to a serious eating disorder in college when I sometimes binged and purged up to five times in one day. I was totally out of control. I share this so that you know that I know what it’s like to live in the shame and frustration over letting food master my life.

HOW DO WE FIND LASTING VICTORY?
One little step at a time. Overcoming an ingrained habit of thinking and behaving can be an overwhelming endeavor. So, in this new video series (first short video below), I will be sharing some of the simple and small steps I took that over time helped me develop a healthier relationship with food and my body. Try your best to consider and implement one small step at a time.

There are no magic bullets or quick fixes. Emotional eating issues vary from woman to woman. However, there are some important physical, psychological, and spiritual principles that apply to most everyone.  I will be sharing a variety of insights and tools that have helped me come to a place where I have truly discovered victory. It is a place of great freedom that I pray you will discover as well.

If you find yourself needing or desiring faith-based coaching and support, I encourage you to consider joining our Eat Live Thrive Academy. SMALL STEP #1 TO OVERCOME EMOTIONAL EATING

Write down all the negative thoughts (lies) that you believe about your relationship with food, your body, your lifestyle habits, and your ability to change. Then, circle the top 5-6 that create the most negative emotional response.  Each time you think these thoughts or experience the negative emotions associated with them, say this:
“THAT IS A LIE AND I NO LONGER BELIEVE THIS!”
This is a powerful exercise because we need to negate that destructive message so we can ultimately replace it with truth. It will take some time to become more aware of your negative self-talk and build the habit of squashing it!
In my next video, we’ll work on writing some new messages to replace the lies and how to build a super strong habit of practicing daily healthy self-talk. Overtime, this habit can profoundly change the driving force behind your negative habits and turn your emotions and actions into ones that propel you toward a healthier lifestyle…one that  you will actually enjoy and feel tremendous freedom.

If you’d like support with changing your mindset, these God-centered Healthy Self-Talk recordings will help.
